Sequel/Prequel/Limited Series/Remake

Bill Simmons▶ 21:12Expressed support for the Rosewood and Taggart limited series idea, saying he's not against it and there's still time for that concept
Chris Ryan▶ 20:56A Rosewood and Taggart limited series - two bumbling cops in L.A. solving rich people's crimes, like a Hobbs and Shaw spinoff

Most Rewatchable Scene

Bill Simmons▶ 36:51City deposit robbery all the way through the Playboy Mansion - enjoys that eight-minute sequence
Chris Ryan▶ 37:00Multiple scenes including the racetrack robbery with cross-cutting horses, Frank Pesci scenes, and suggests splitting between action (city deposit) and comedy (Andersons in Hawaii house scene)

What's Aged the Best

Bill Simmons▶ 40:29The opening music (Shakedown by Bob Seger and Faltermeyer's score), Chris Rock's performance, Simpson and Bruckheimer's producing power, and the alphabet crimes concept
Chris Ryan▶ 40:36The opening song of a movie being thematically drawn from the movie itself - theme songs that connect to the movie's plot

Casting What-Ifs

Bill Simmons▶ 56:03Lisa Bonet — Add Lisa Bonet as a strip club character who befriends Axel, they get involved, then she's killed by the bad guys to give Axel more motivation for revenge
Chris Ryan▶ 57:21Lisa Bonet — Acknowledges the Lisa Bonet idea but notes it would remove the comedy element and turn it into straight revenge, though likes the concept

Apex Mountain

Bill Simmons▶ 59:17Brigitte Nielsen — No for Eddie Murphy (says Cop 1 was his apex), Yes for Brigitte Nielsen, Yes for Judge Reinhold, No for Tony Scott, No for Hugh Hefner, No for Harold Faltemeyer, No for Playboy Mansion

Who Won the Movie

Bill Simmons▶ 1:06:45Eddie Murphy — Eddie Murphy is the answer, but acknowledges Rosewood and Taggart can make a case
Chris Ryan▶ 1:06:36Eddie Murphy — Hard to say anybody but Murphy wins, though Tony Scott could make an argument for his distinctive direction

Probably Unanswerable Questions

Bill Simmons▶ 1:07:07Why didn't the Beverly Hills Cop sequels add new characters like other successful sequels (Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon, Sam Jackson in Die Hard 3) instead of just running back the same nucleus with new villains
Chris Ryan▶ 1:08:10Why didn't they set a sequel in Detroit instead of always having Axel go to LA, which would have been equally funny and allowed for great scenes with his Detroit colleagues

Dion Waiters Award

Bill Simmons▶ 1:09:42The foreman — Agrees with the foreman pick, says they should have included him
Chris Ryan▶ 1:09:38The foreman
